The client might get tripped over the shoes or the folded doormat in the living room which is a risk factor and he might fell on the fan placed on the table while trying to pick up the remote to switch on the TV which is kept upon the TV. This can cause the client to hit his head on the fan once he falls. Additionally, if the fan fells on the candle placed behind it, then it may set the curtain on fire and the candle after rolling down might fall on the bunch of newspapers placed there and can cause a short circuit in the wall socket behind the newspapers and can set the living room and further the house on fire causing loss of property and death of the client.
The described risk factors could be minimized by the proper placement of the items such as by placing the shoes in the shoe rack and the doormat on the door. Additionally, the risk of fire can be minimized by blowing off the candle as it is not required to be lighted during the day time. Also, the bunch of newspapers shall be removed and kept in the store and the candle should be kept on the table in front of the couch after removing the wine bottle and glasses. Also, the extension cable on the floor shall be removed from there as it may cause repeated accidents in the future. The stool may be removed from there into another room as there is plenty of sitting space on the couch.
While I was working on reducing the risk factors to the client associated with the fan or the candle or the bunch of newspaper, I might hit the table and make the wine bottle or the wine glass to fall or get tripped over by the shoes or the cable just like the client as I was very stressed about the client. Since I heard about the accident and came running on my supervisor’s orders I was exhausted and thus my work efficiency was very low. I tried to do the work as soon as possible but the same could not be done as I was highly stressed and fatigued and this caused me in the same position as the client because I was out of energy and the client was an elderly thus lacking both focus and strength just like me which was because of the stress and the fatigue. Due to the lack of focus, I may have missed various important points which I should have mentioned in the Incident Report thus causing a decrease in the quality of the incident report. The impact of stress and fatigue over me can cause negligence in my duty of due care thus resulting in loss to the client. If the client is facing any difficulty as a result of my actions then this might result in carelessness and negligence on my behalf thus displaying me no more efficient with my job.
