Immunization has been considered as one of the cost-effective healthcare intervention that created a long term effect on the patients and significantly increased the health outcomes. In the long-term facilities including acute older persons mental health ward the patients are more susceptible to acute healthcare setting infections and it becomes the duty of the nurses to provide immunization to avoid the risk of infection transmission. Infection causing pathogens is the leading cause of morbidity in the elderly care settings(Wade, 2015). The increasing infection rate accounts for the large proportion of prescribed medication which results in various forms of multiple resistant bacteria like Methicillin-resistant bacteria (MRSA). It has triggered a major challenge for the healthcare workers to treat elderly patients in immnocompromised acute older persons mental health ward (Daum & Spellberg, 2015).

The S.aureus infection forms a large proportion of the bloodstream infections, soft tissue, and skin .infection as the bacteria is associated with the normal flora of individuals. Therefore, the colonization of the pathogenic bacteria is a common infection that exists in the long-term facilities with the patients being persistent carriers and has been associated with the risk of infection. The carriers of the patient may be non-symptomaticand lack active symptoms like a boil or sore, however, the bacteria can still be present under the skin or in the nose (Daum &Spellberg, 2015). These asymptomatic infections is a challenging factor for the medication process as these individuals are potent carriers of infection in the long term care setting (Daum & Spellberg, 2015). Immunizing such individuals timely for preventable diseases can reduce the risk of generating hospital-acquired infections but at the same time can trigger the multi-resistant bacteria due to continued multiple medications.
