This study is an individual reflection which describes the role of the company in building a new engineering project on the land which belongs to the native title status. This is the study also demonstrate the history of indigenous Australian and the problem faced by them. It is important for the organisation who is involved in this type of projects to be more sensible in terms of needs and problems of the native maintain a good relationship with indigenous aboriginal people. The studies also demonstrate which engineering companies should contribute to the indigenous Australian communities. Australia is one of the most developed nations due to the sustainable development and the adoption of new technology.
Australia is one of the diverse countries which have different groups of communities live together to accomplish success in all areas of development. Among this group of people, the indigenous Australian is one of the communities (Sullivan, 2018). This community practising unique civilizations, retaining communal, social, financial and administrative features which are entirely different from those of the leading societies among which they live. Australia’s Native inhabits are consist of the two separate cultural society which are made up of Indigenous and the Torres Strait Islander immigrates. However, there exists great diversity among these two largely defined groups demonstrated through the over 250 distinct linguistic groups widespread across the nation. These groups of people have their customs and laws and no other community is allowed to interfere in their matters.
Therefore it will be difficult to pursue any projects in these communities without having consent the communities members. The very first step taken by the construction firm is to inform all the parties and the communities who are directly or indirectly associated with this project. The firm aims to maintain the cordial relationship with the local societies for the accomplishment of this engineering project. However, this shows a pivotal role to regulate why the link is desirable, the requirement and possibility to check, and what kind of relations and links are obligatory to be shaped in order to attain the predefined goals. The organization needs to be very clear that how this project will be helpful and beneficial for their communities and what assistances, qualities, or dimensions can be carried to the organization (Altman & Pollack, 2018). Effective strategies need to be built to make an unpretentious commitment among the local communities and firm which can be recognized only over individual involvement and broader discussion with indigenous communities.
In order to accomplish this project, distinct areas need to be explored by the organization in order to engage the firm with the local communities. It is noted that people aboriginal people have the least participation in the development and engagement in the decision-making process of the organization (Powell, McMahon & Jones, 2017). Therefore various communities are building up in order to maintain the engagement with the indigenous people and the government officials. These communities considered to have the least participation in the fields related to technology development, engineering and so on. However, in the field of health care sector these people have increased their participation level and now proactively working in those areas. Construction organization needs to understand the perspective of the aboriginal people and represent the culture of equality among the members of the community. The native title act also recognized the Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander land fund and the Indigenous Land Corporation (ILC) to promote native people in procurement and upholding land. Within this act, the aboriginal people can claim the right to negotiate the counter to the development of the land. Therefore construction firm needs to be very careful in implementing any strategy for this project.
It is imperative for the construction firm in order to attain success in this project by effectively collaborates with the members of communities and represents the equal opportunity in front of them.
It is concluded from the study that Australia is one of the diverse countries which have different groups of communities live together in order to accomplish success in all areas of development. Among this group of people, the indigenous Australian is one of the communities. The study describes the role of the company in building a new engineering project on the land which belongs to the native title status. These communities considered to have the least participation in the fields related to technology development, engineering and so on. However, in the field of health care sector these people have increased their participation level and now proactively working in those areas. These people need to gets better trained so that they can manage the resources and use them wisely for the betterment of their livelihood. These also help them to upgrade their living standard for them and also for their upcoming generations.
