Statement of Purpose

I am Sara Lee, and some days, I wonder if things are destined to unfold in a particular manner that leads us to find our future path. I was in intermediate school when I got my first PC. While exploring, I discovered a game called "Genshin Impact". Soon I realised that I am fond of video games and wildly obsessed with Genshin Impact. The game's high-quality graphics urged me to explore the fantasized adventures, and the desire to discover the mystery world greatly influenced me to keep going. I used to think it was just an inclination towards playing video games like many other children my age. But when people started calling me a stereotypical gamer and I started being obsessed with technology, I realized my inclination wasn't just a hobby but a passion with a touch of fascination.

When I started walking on the path of gaming, creativity became my wind to ensure I had a smooth flow throughout. I am glad that my obsession with playing video games helped me enhance my skills, such as critical thinking, team building, and quick decision-making. When I continued to play Genshin Impact's puzzle games, the astonishing development and designing of new levels made me wonder more about the creative part of my life. This fascination has always made me stick to my only dream of developing video games. To achieve my goal, I must keep channelising my creativity in developing something I adore, which others can also admire. My wish to pursue a master's in Computer Engineering is just like a crucial stage I have to clear to reach the final level of the game called life.

In my journey of finding my passion in the game development field, some personal incidents significantly influenced me. My parents were not a big fan of letting me pursue the Computer Engineering field, but my aunt inspired me to stay focused. She was a scholar in her field; however, because of the typical old traditions, our family persuaded her to get married. Remembering this story makes me compassionate about the choices I've made.

Each incident in my life gave me the exact motive to live and breathe only with the intention of developing games. Whether it was some personal incident, my creativity to build something out of the box, or even if it is about believing in my extraordinary talent. To reach the level from where I could be a suitable choice of taking Computer Engineering, I've accomplished several qualities that helped me enhance my skills over the years.

Today, I've achieved a level of excellence in several fields that highlights my qualities as a great leader. Whether it was about team communication, coordination, or leadership skills that I gained after being a representative student council, well-being ambassador, career centre applicant, or IELTS ambassador. Besides these, the awards that I've received in my journey till now have made me believe in myself a little more by each passing day. The experience and achievements such as Excellent Academic Performance, First Step Korean, The Fundamental of Digital Marketing, and more have been the added stars that helped me keep going and pursue the direction I always wanted to. Regarding my current education and experience, I am taking AP computer as an elective, consistently signing up for programming and coding courses online like "Coding for Everyone: C and C++". With my continuous determination, I firmly believe the institution I'm looking forward to being a part of can shape my dream best.

Lastly, if it wasn’t for Genshin Impact's masterpiece game, I would have never understood that my hobby of playing video games could one day become a great career option. The path I'm en routeing is neither only male-oriented nor has any less scope in the future. With the dream of making my family proud of my decisions, I am ready to begin the new journey.
