Letter to Annie
Hi Annie,
I am writing this letter to you as I resonate with your thoughts on music. I believe that peace should be given a chance. I understand that being lonely and confined to a place creates thoughts that diminish our presence with no solace and the music which builds an inner connection is also not accessible. I am writing this letter since I had these gut-wrenching thoughts on your struggle. The affirmation towards music and being confined to the cabin altogether createsisolation. I read your experience and your questions on movement to another country due to the war and violet attacks. You had transpired in different personalities while being waiting for the goshawk every day through the window. The condition of your mother and reluctance by your father to allow you to move across and keep vigilance through the truck creates feeling to be free as a bird. I resonate with your thoughts on music and how you passed the same through your son's passion for the same. The discrimination, actions, and indifference created by society is the prejudice I wish to eradicate through common good for society. The catholic teaching beholds the right to life and right for human decency, the pain and reluctance that the voice did to your father have shaken me to the core on the community rights blocked at the forefront in the country and the closed confined life you had to adhere to.
The common good can be reached when all can work together for the well-being of the people. I felt you were disempowered with limited options in living with circumstances you were. Peace is action-oriented with dependent on people and the environment that was obstructed in time in Canada. I had seen the broken family relationship between your parents, I felt the family bond was broken and missing between you and your parents.
Yours Truly
X
A personal reflection on the letter
Annie has a child with isolation in prairie land longs for her freedom. The characters captivate me towards sympathy and rights of freedom that is not present with her and isolation is shown with her failed marriage. The turbulence of war with conformity reflects the human rights violation experienced by her father Rafael. My letter to Annie is on her living in isolation in turbulent times without music sparks thoughts on non-peace and violet fundamentals that shape our personality. The common good principles are violated, the access to goods and services were denied to Annie.
This my song subtly connects with the effect of the Jewish race during World War II. The immigrant's discord with movement when turning out as survivors of WWII is a reflection on the human rights violation and extent of war and violence on the survivors (Yardley, 2017).Annie is a child of the sweeping isolation of the Canadian prairie lands, yet she is a bird eager to fly and seeks freedom she cannot enjoy with her parents. The survival and dignity are somehow lost with her feeling lonely to break into wings and longing to set free. I see that today material resources are available for rescuing people (Grace, 2013). The Catholic Church proclaims moral vision on principles of life that resonates with thoughts for freedom that had witnessed for human life as sacred and dignity of human (Catholic social teaching, 1996, 2.1.1). The threat to livelihood has been experienced with the deportation of Jews. Annie looked towards Goshawk across the family cabin and wanted to move past the grassland outside. Annie struggle with staying away at prairie when bullets, bomb around the goshawk, the forest beckoned her.
The friendship with hawk shows the loneliness of Annie. In the year 1970s, the wildprairie of Canada is overlooked with truck movement, and tormentsof war are fresh with her father and deaf mother who have escaped here from Nazi violence. In the era of mass migration, the government should focus on supporting positive contact and different culture and young people as integration is difficult and takes time. The golden rule of reciprocity, care makes children and migrants vulnerable in violent situations(Global fund for children 2017. 1.1). The peace and overnight opened across the generation show the violence experienced by the attack of viewing the things that are loved shows the pain that has been seen in Annie's father. The openness for all with solidarity is proclaimed in catholic teaching that gives us the right to rest and breathe. The UN human right of freedom of movement was restricted. The violation of article 27 right to freely participate in cultural life and Article 7 as equal protection due to government disruption across the country with bomb attack and restricted movement (UN,2020,1.1.3).
The movement and restriction with the cabin are limited for Annie, the thoughts for her father is gripped with something bad that is about to happen is mounted by his own experience that has stayed attached with him. The gift of music has led him to silence that is transpired in his grandchild who is attracted to music and buy a turntable when her father is not around. The life insolation and captive take toll her with non-discretionary movement not allowed. The family bond and participation show a man should not be alone and social institutions must support and strengthen the vulnerable. The migration and horridexperiences createisolation and repulsion towards society,we're bound together we should show moral and material solidarity towards each other in the family.
The catholic principle of the common good as the total of social conditions which allow people to reach their fulfillment fully and easily. The instability due to war and migration and movement to Canada shows a violation of freedom concerning music for Annie as a violation of the common good principle. The letter from Mrs. Jefferson showed the discrimination as "they always be people like that ", it showed the helpless of the central character Annie bowed by the pressure and her parent's resistance with captivation to the situation as they unfolded (Yardley, 2017). The inequality created by war showed soldiers destroying the properties. The war has led to displacement with the explosion and gunshots that killed their family and Annie's father. The catholic teaching in implementation will help in public authority responsible for security and justice concerning rights. The violence and genocide during the Nazi era and marginalization influence my thoughts towards catholic social conscience for the necessary foundation for social-political issues
The action by the government in extreme destruction and displacement of people differ from the catholic principle of solidarity. Injustice one another shows the marginalization of Annie and the hurdles her father faced due to the turbulence stance by the war situation. Annie questioning the system with the worst form of humanity makes me sad with thoughts of repulsion and attack on harmless. The life and dignity of humans as catholic belief every person precious reflects the reform system in Canada and Germany with life and dignity of poor and children who are attacked and compromise of life. An application for the societal upkeep government role is central, in the economic justice for all pastor letter it is the responsibility of the government in safeguarding human rights and enhance human dignity while the same was stripped by autocratic government attack that resulted in health and fear to grip the community (UN, 2020, section 1.1.3).
