Purpose- The study was conducted in the University of Canberra, Australia in the student community to understand 3 personality traits from the Big 5 theory (Extroversion, Conscientiousness, agreeableness) and what led the students to procrastination in their behavior.
Methods- Use of principal component analysis using a varimax rotation was used to find the co-relations between the traits and procrastination. Participants were 565 students of the University of Canberra (42% male & 58% female). Convenience sampling was used to conduct the survey and the participant was asked to fill up the questionnaire.
Findings- The overall model was significant and indicated that together, the dimensions of personality traits in students explained 9% of the variance in procrastination (R = .30, R^2=.09, Adjusted R^2=.08, F(3, 561) = 18.23, p <.001). Zero-order correlation showed all thre....
